Green cloud

Hi, I did a shock that put all the algae on the bottom of the pool and promptly covered my de grids with green slime. The green cloud is still there (settles on the bottom) and when I turn the pool on the whole pool is green. I dont have a vacuum, my polaris always picked up the trash. But this is a different problem. what do i need to do to get rid of this  green cloud…?? hanks, Bill

I would continue to shock the pool until the algae is dead. Then you can add a product called Pool First Aid. The Pool First Aid will clear up the dead algae.

Hi Rob,

I shocked my pool (in ground 17’ x 35’ x 6’  deep) yesterday and let it circulate thru the night. how frequently can  i shock it? it still looks like pea soup. Thx, Bill

You will need to maintain shock levels for a couple of days to clear the algae. We cover the process step by step here: How to Clean a Green Pool?

Thanks Matt and Rob,

I did as you advised and shocked and shocked (and backwashed and backwashed) and finally the pool is clear…

thanks for all the advice…

Bill
