Hayward DE3620 Valve

I currently have a Hayward sidemount backflush valve (appears to be model SP0710Z20) with a crack/leak.  The size on the side of the Hayward DE3620 appears to be 2" and reduced to 1 and 1/2 " as it approaches the side of the backflush valve.  Is there any functional purpose for this reduction and if not, what model will fit in 2"?  It appears to me that this only produces a flow restriction in my otherwise 2" plumbing.  Also, is there a identical generic model that is cheaper than the OEM valve.  Think I may have saw one ( maybe CMP ) somewhere is the past.

Yes, there would be a reduction in flow if you have 2" plumbing that is reduced to 1.5" for the valve. I’d recommend going with the 2" multiport valve.

We have two options for the Hayward DE3620, but both are currently out of stock. You can sign up to be notified as soon as they are back in stock.

CMP Model 27516-204-000

Hayward Model SP0715XR50

Thanks for the response.  I have signed up to be notified when you guys get them in.
