I am a new owner of a pool. The Hayward pool heater works fine, but the blower comes on each evening and runs until morning. The heater control is on standby. Can you tell me why this may be occurring?
Hello DSprenkle - We’d be glad to assist you. What is the model of your Hayward heater and how old is the heater? Were there any error codes on the display?
I think I have the answer from Hayward. When the pump is not running, there is a safety feature that runs the blower to prevent a gas buildup. The model is H4001DL2. It is about 3 years old. There is not an error code.
It may be the integrated control board, part number IDXL2ICB1931. This can be tested in the field by a service technician. We recommend contacting Hayward tech support. 866-772-2100.
