I currently have a Hayward SP3020X25AZ 2.5 HP Super II Pump in my salt water pool. I need to replace the pump motor, and want the SWG to run as an AUX from the pump to ensure the SWG only powered when the pump is powered. I also need an integrated freeze protection circuit. It would be nice to only replace the motor and re-wire the SWG (no plumbing changes needed). I would like a variable speed motor if it makes sense. Is the ECM27SQU a good choice for me?
Thank you for contacting Inyo. The Super II Pump would require a round flange motor. The round flange variable speed motor would be model ECM27CU. This motor does have the built-in freeze protection and AUX circuit.
We’d recommend replacing the seals when you replace the motor. The seal kit is GOKIT2SALT.
