Hayward Super Pump Replacement Motor

Hi,

I have a Hayward 1.0HP Super Pump and I can hear the bearings are starting to go.  I want to order a replacement motor so I can have it at the ready.  I see you have a Century Brand motor that will replace it for ~$150.  But the replacement Hayward motor runs >$300.  Just wondering why such a price differnence.  If all things are equal I would obviously prefer the cheaper motor, but if it is just going to break down or give me problems I would go with the same motor and spend the extra money.  Please advise.

Pete

Hi piespa,

They are actually the exact same motor manufactured by Century, one just has the Hayward branding on the motor where the other has the Century branding.

For a 1 HP Hayward Super Pump, you will require this UST1102 - Replacement Motor for Hayward Super Pumps. You will also need a Hayward Super Pump Seal Kit when you replace your motor. We put together this Video on How to Replace a Pool Pump Motor which you may find helpful when you tackle this project.
