I have a Hayward sand filter that had a xp714 vari flo valve on it…shaft broke off and ordered a new one to replace it…however now since changing the diverter on it the valve isn’t changing when going to different functions…ex. when in filter mode water is coming back into pool as it should but also coming out of backwash Port as if being backwashed…and if you tighten the top on the valve back to original state, then water keeps coming out of backwash Port if pump is running or not…loosen the cover screws up , let some slack in it and it stops…I am completely confused…please help me…
