Heat pump condensation

How much condensation should I expect with my new Haywood 140,000 BTU heat pump.  It’s been very humid and seems like am getting a lot of condensation.  I tested the water no chlorine and nothing when running pump and heater off.

Thanks

Hello Mike - Thank you for contacting Inyo. We contacted a Hayward tech and below was his response.

If no chlorine is found in the water around a heat pump then that is a very good sign it isn’t pool water, but I’d also test the pool’s water for the chlorine level.  Not trying to complicate things, but I have seen some very low levels of chlorine or no levels of chlorine at all in a body of water.   At high humidity, you can expect a heat pump to discharge as much as one gallon of condensation collected from the air.  If the heat pump is turned off for a while and the filter pump is still running, but no water is accumulating around the heat pump then it is a fairly safe assumption that this is not water from the pool’s circulation systems leaking out of the heat pump.

When just the pump running and heat pump off no water. I did open up front and see a lot of condensation

Thank you for the update and picture. It does appear that you are experiencing normal condensation.
