Help with Hayward Heat Pump

I have a Hayward Heat Pump This guy.

I have an intermittent cSh error. I also had this last year, but some local Hayward tech came out and swapped the run or start capacitor and it went away.

If I unplug the heater from the disconnect and leave it alone for about 6 hours, then switch it back on, the heater will run for about an hour or two and then quit. Same error.

I have both capacitors out, and the smaller (HPX11024151) climbs to 7.61 and holds, while the larger (11022320) climbs to 77.3 and holds. Smaller says 7.5 MFD, larger says 80 MFD.

Any ideas what this may be? Could it be the control board?

The most common cause of a cSH error is a shorted defrost sensor. Check sensor wiring for shorted wires, and check sensor resistance against the attached temp ohm chart. If resistance is 0 or very low, replace the sensor. If sensor reads the correct resistance for the temp of the water, replace control board.

Thanks. I’ve ordered the part, looks like I’ll have a blast replacing this. I’ll post back if it fixes it.

Thank you!

Ok, just finished replacing the sensor. No more error, but now it’s not doing anything other than displaying the current water temp. I have it at the highest heat  and it’s not doing anything…
