High PH

I am constantly wrestling with high PH and fins myself having to add acid every day or every other day. I am constantly battling PH and Alkalinity. I am not sure what is casuing the PH to rise. Is there a way to add acid or raise alkalinity that keeps me from having to do this every day and cost me a lot as well? Should I pay attention to TA or Adjusted TA?

Hi Rayman,

You can use something like a Stenner Liquid Feeder and Tank to automate the feeding of acid to your pool. I have one of these on my pool and I really like it. Do you have a salt pool? Salt-chlorinated pools do have a tendency to have higher pH. You should keep an eye on your TA as that will cause your pH to rise quicker as well. You might want to check out Trouble Free Pool as they are experts in water chemistry, you can post your test results on their site and normally have answers back in minutes as far as prescribed approach to your issue.

Thank You

Thanks Rayman!

Hi Rayman,

Thanks. I read on trouble free pools that for cases where PH keeps rising, bringing the TA down to even 60ppm may help. So taking it even below the low end of the ideal range. I think that adjusted TA does need to be ignored on this case.

Thanks, Rayman that is very helpful to know, I’m constantly fighting with high pH on my pool so I may try lower my TA to see how it works.
