I have a pool I’m getting a salt generator for I need to know how much salt to add for 35 to 40 thousand gallons

Hello Doug - The ideal salt level could be different based on the system. Do you know the make and model of the system?

Hello Doug - I would start with adding the correct amount for a 35k pool. This would be 1,000 pounds of salt.

You can always add more salt if the pool is closer to 40k.

1000 pounds of salt that is lgoing to be very expensive. And where can I get that from Walmart Lowe’s or somebody like that

Most big box stores will carry pool salt. The bags run $8-$10 a piece for 40-50 pounds. The good news is that you’ll never have to add that much again.
