Leak at motor/plate after new motor installed

I ordered Century motor and tune up kit. After install, there is a leak where the motor is bolted into the plate. What else could it be?

It’s possible that the shaft seal was not sitting flush with the seal plate. There could be a small crack in the seal plate.

The first thing I’d try is reseating the shaft seal and make sure it is installed in the correct orientation.

Thank you! I’ll check that out. I did order a new seal plate just in case. I’ll try that!
