Leak in suction side

I am getting air on the suction side of my in-ground pool.  I’ve pretty much checked everything with the exception of the shut-off valve and the line from the skimmer to the pump.  I am having the valve replaced in a few days.  Fixing the line is not an option because it runs under concrete.  If it is the line from the skimmer is there a solution that I can pour into the line to possibly stop the leak?

Hello TomjoMo - We’d be glad to assist you. A leak from the valves in front of the pump are very common. That may solve your issue.

We have a product called Fix-A-Leak. It’s designed to find and seal leaks in pools and spas. The directions for suction side leaks are below.

In most cases, suction lines only leak water when the filter pump is shut off. Normal Circulation will simply draw FIX-A-LEAK away from the leak and if the pump is shut off the material will simply not get to the leak.  You must reverse the flow of water, to force the material through the leak under pressure.  Preferably 5-10 psi. until the leak has stopped.  When this has been achieved, gradually increase pressure to 15-25 psi. to ensure a proper seal.
