Motor tripping braker

Hi

I have a century B122. Part#7-164299-23 pool pump motor about two years old

1 HP single speed  SF 1.40. It runs on 115v

Impeller spins freely. has brass inpeller

When the pump starts, it runs for about 30 seconds then trips the house 20 amp braker.

I replaced the silver run capisator that was on top of the motor, same problem.

Do you know if this motor has a start capisator under the rear cover where the wires connect?

Any ideas of problem?

Thank you. My Ohm meter is not working properly either.  I guess I’m having a bad day…

The B122 has a run capacitor but it does not have a start capacitor. It’s possible that the breaker is bad. Check out our article titled “Pool Pump Tripping Breaker”.
