Multiport Valve

Lost about a foot of water overnight. I pulled the Multiport Valve cover off and noticed a warped spider gasket. I filled the pool back up to test to see if the leak was from the skimmer lines or main drain. The water stayed the same. I replaced the spider gasket and used Magic Lube on it before re-attached the port lid. Turned everything on and it seems fine. The one thing I am curious about is there is some water built up around the handle still. That is what first brought me to the attention that it could be something with the Multiport Valve. The handle itself isn’t very tight. I can move it up and down. It is fitting snug in each spoke. Is it normal to see some water at the handle? Is it normal for the handle to move like that?

It’s normal to have a little play in the handle but not water underneath it. You may need to replace the o-rings on the shaft of the diverter. They aren’t the easiest rings to replace. Most people prefer to replace the top assembly of the valve.
