Just ordered a PL1611 pump from INYOPOOLS. Before I install just need a question answered. I have a Hayward  Salt and Swim unit I bought from INYOPOOLS last year. Before my broken pump PL1601 crapped out I noticed the Salt monitor had the ‘INADEQUATE WATER FLOW’ led light on(this indicates that not enough water pressure/flow and unit won’t generate clorine per their manual)

If I upgrade to a PL2622 with 2" outlet generate more water pressure in the line even though rest of pipe system is 1 1/2" pipes?

Currently I do not have any pump attached to system and need to make decision ASAP!

Does PL2622 with 2" outlet generate more water pressure than the PL1611 with 1 1/2" outlet?

The water flow issue would have always been a problem if the PL1601 was undersized. It’s more likely that the low water flow issue was caused by something else. It could be from a dirty filter, clogged impeller, full leaf basket, blocked line, or an air leak.

You could upgrade to the PL2622 even though you have 1.5" lines. Reducers would need to be used on the intake and discharge. The PL2622 is a more durable unit that can produce more GPM than the PL1611.
