Need to replace pool system

Hello,

I am replacing my current Hayward 3/4 hp pump with a 1 hp Pureline (PL 1501) pump. Also getting a new C500 cartridge filter (I believe it will work fine with the new pump). My equipment is old and leaky & needs to be replaced.

I have an above ground pool that is 18’ round (7600 gallons). I know I need a GO KIT and any other accessories to put the new system together. Would I also be able to order a new base for the pump and cartridge filter? Thanks for your response!

Thank you for shopping with Inyo. You won’t need a GOKIT if you are ordering a complete pump. GOKITs are only required when you replace a motor.

Hayward has a base for the C500 and pump. The part number is 4810-74.

So all that I need to order is the pump, C500 and the base? No other accessories (that is, hoses, connectors, etc)?

Also, should I stay with the C500 (50 sq ft) or would I need anything with more sq ft?

If you don’t plan on using your current hoses and adapters, you’ll need to order new ones. The adapters are part number 7249B. You can find hoses on our filter hose page.

The C500 is sufficient for the size of your pool.

Hi Rob,

Please see attached photo - example of what I previously had. When I get my new pump I need to connect it (see photo) better than it had previously been connected. I have SP1091Z7 as the 1.5 inch adapter attached to the pump. There is no information on the adapter attached to the white Lasco fitting. Do you know the part number to the 1.25 inch adapter with no info? I would like to order these 2 adapters. Also, what type of connector show I get/use to tie these 2 adapters together? Thanks again for your help.

That is an odd setup. What kind of pipe is coming from the pool? Is it 1.5" hard pvc?

It is 1.25 hard pvc.

You will need a 1.5" to 1.25" adapter. These can be found at most hardware stores. You’d thread the 1.5" mpt side into the pump and then glue the 1.25" pipe into the opposite side of that fitting.

Hi Rob,

Please see attached. I just received my new pump (PL 1500) with the top discharge. I’m sure there is an adapter/hose that can make the connection between the pump and the filter. Can you give me the link to what that part number is? I am waiting for the union (SP1480BLK) be delivered later today.

We don’t have a specific adapter that will connect the pump to the filter. We do have a guide that shows you how to rotate the discharge port to the side. http://www.inyopools.com/HowToPage/how-to-rotate-the-discharge-port-on-a-pureline-pure-pro-xl-pump.aspx

Most pool owners will use two of the 7249B fittings and a short piece of flex pipe/ hose to connect the pump to the filter.
