Pentair SM-20-3 for Sand Filter

We have two Triton TR-140 Sand Filters with a Pentair SM-20-3 side-mount for each filter. Each filter has it’s own Hayward pump and motor.

Both valves are leaking significantly out through the waste line when putting into recirculate and want to replace both. Is the SM-20-3 the best valve to use?

Flow rate up to 125GPM through each filter.

Several different valves on the site listed as SM-20-3. Need threaded with the bottom sweep attached for the Triton filter.

The correct replacement valve for the Triton TR-140 is part number 4612-0 (SM2-PP3).

Thanks Rob

Plumbing is 2" if that is important as well.

What exactly is the difference between these three valves? Maximum flow rate? Filter Media?

Multi-Port Generic SM2-PP3 (4612-0)

Multi-Port OEM 261055

Multi-Port High Flow 261050 (4614-0)

All 3 valves have a maximum flow rate of 125 gpm. The SM2-PP3 is made by Praher and the 261055 is made by Pentair. The 261050 is made by Pentair as well but it is considered the "Hi-Flow model. It has a higher working pressure rating (14.5 vs 8.5).

The SM2-PP3 would be the exact replacement as what you currently have installed.
