PL2626 installed, louder than expected

Hi, I was expecting the PL2626 to be quieter than our last pump (Hayward superpump),  utbit’s not.  Here’s a video of the pump running at 2600rpm.  Let me know what you think? A few things I noticed also that would love to hear your thoughts…

  1. When the filter needs to be backwashed, the pump basket is only half full of water. That didn’t happen with my last pump.

  2. We couldn’t install the pump with our existing plumbing unless I removed the cover to the controls panel (or made more significant changes to the plumbing).  I cover it manually everytime we access it though.  Is this ok?

  3. When I set the water flow to come all from the main drain (none from the skimmers), I see air in the pump basket and air bubbles coming from the returns. Is this normal?
