Plumbing Componant Replacement

Good Morning

I need a replacement part recommendation.

I have a raised spa in conjunction with a grade level pool.

The 18 year old spa return check valve will no longer maintain the water level. So, the check valve will be needed.

The original check valve is a 2’ union check valve by FLO. It is installed in a vertical position with downward flow The unit is not marked as to type. The only number on it is D-2466.

What would the replacement model for this unit?

Would this be best as a flapper type or a spring type?

Hello SMSutton - We have a spring style check valve that would be similar to your D-2466 valve. It’s the Flo Control model 1700C20. The 1700C20 has 2" unions.

We have flapper style check valves and recommend them for most applications because they are easier to clean out. However, we don’t recommend them for vertical plumbing when the water flow is moving downward.
