Polaris PBSQ4 Booster Pump Question

I have this new booster pump along with new VSF pump. Is there a way to connect both so that the booster pump runs only when the VSF pump is on? I don’t like the mechanical timer it’s currently on since it could go out of sync with he VSF pump when there is power outage.

I could run the VSF at low rpm 24/7. But I’m solar heating right now and I don’t have a controller that works with the VSF and solar.

Some variable speed pumps have an AUX connection for a booster pump. What is the make and model of your booster pump?

Booster pump is Polaris PBSQ4. Filter pump is IntelliFlo VSF. I could be wrong but I didn’t see anything about an aux connection on the VSF. There is a RS485 port to connect to a controller but I doubt that can be connected to the booster pump.

There is not an AUX connection on the Intelliflo. One option would be to go with a digital timer like the Intermatic PE153. The Intelliflo and booster pump could be connected to that timer. You wouldn’t have to worry about the booster pump getting out of sync because it has built-in bubble memory and won’t lose the time if power is interrupted.

Thanks. I don’t have to connect the Intelliflo to this timer as it has its own timer already. The large capacitor enables it to keep the schedules in tact in case of power outage. As for the booster pump, yes, I went to Home Depot yesterday and found a digital timer similar to your pic for the booster pump. I was hoping to find one that is small enough (5"x5") to replace that mechanical timer on the right so I can keep everything in the same enclosure. I looked on-line but didn’t find one. Maybe I have no choice but to connect a separate timer for the booster pump.

Sorry I couldn’t get the pic to rotate.

The mechanism from the PE153 should fit. The part number is P1353ME.

Wow, over $250 just for a timer to a single pump. Is there one with 1 circuit that does the same job? I’m looking to spend $100 or less.
