pool circulation

In the process of replacing some of my pool plumbing, the water level in the pool dropped a foot or so. After I got the plumbing replaced, I forced water into the skimmer inputs. The input from the skimmers to the pump seems ok, but there is very little input from the bottom drain. I think the problem is air in the line to the bottom drain, but I can’t figure out how to get the circulation going again. Any ideas?

Hello William - Thank you for contacting Inyo. Make sure the valves are open so that water can flow from the main drain. With the pump turned off, remove the pump lid and fill the strainer pot with water. Let it run for a couple minutes. This will fill up the plumbing lines on the suction side of the system. Place the lid on the pump and turn it on. Hopefully, the pump will stay primed after that.

thanks for the response. turned out i had a loose connection when i replaced the plumbing. with this fix everything is working normally.
