Pool Motor Replacement

I have a 20,000 gallon pool with a D.E. 24’ filter.  The pool has two main lines at 2” each and 2 return lines at 1.5” each (one vacuum line at 1.5&rdquo.  Currently there was a Hayward Super Pump, and the most recent pump motor is a USMotors motor with a HP 1.5 / SF 1.3 / THP 2.25.  I do not know feet of head, but can you tell me if based on standard amounts if this pump is way too overpowered? And can you recommend a replacement variable speed motor as I intend to use the Hayward pump still there?

It seems like the pump would be overpowered but that’s a guess since we don’t know the feet of head. To be safe, we’d recommend going with the ECM27CU. That is a 2.7HP variable speed motor.

We’d also recommend replacing the seals when you replace the motor. The seal kit is GOKIT3.
