I have a 27,000 gallon in gound concrete pool and i want to update the old pump to a VS pump, new filter, and install a heat pump (none existing). My pool was installed in the early 80’s but had stood the test of time quite well. However doing all of the correct calculations for pump and filter sizing as well as the heat pump I came across an issue i hope you may be able to shed some light on. The pool was installed with a 2" intake but only a 1 1/2" return and i am concerned about the GPM restrictions created by dropping down to a 1 1/2" line. They did however install a future 1 1/2" line that was meant for a pressure side cleaning device and i was thinking i could use that as a full time option if the existing return will cause an issue. Below i have copied the items i want to install.
