Im looking at replacing my single speed 2hp pump for a variable spped to be more energy efficient.its a 26,000 gallon pool and has 2 skimmers and 1 drain on 2in pipe feeding pump. Pump return is reduced to 1.5 that goes to 94gpm sand filter and than reduced agian to 1.5inch and connected to 2inch fittings on pool heater and then 1.5 inch to pool returns. Im thinking im wasting energy with the 2hp single speeed pump at 3450 rpm with the 1.5 inch returns?
Pool runs 7months per year and energy cost is 0.124kwh
What would your reccomendations be for a pump?
