Pool pump replacement - pvc question

Hey Everyone,

I purchased a new variable speed pool pump to replace single speed.

Looking at my plumbing setup, the original installers did not leave much excess pipe to cut near the divertee valve.

Does anyone know of a coupling that would attach to this setup or would i need to cut everyhting off and install a new diverter valve?

pics show the diverter valve and the new pump inlet

Thanks in advance

Hi Ryan, would you be able to use the other half of the union to connect the new pump?

Hi Rich - per your advice I was able to remove the other side of the union off the old pump! I thought it was glued on there, but it was only threaded in. Everything looks like it will line up nicely now. Thank you very much for the idea!!

Ryan

That’s great to hear!  Enjoy the new pump!
