Problems after replacing motor

I recently purchased a new AO smith motor (CAT B2841V1 part number F56AA81A01) for my Jandy Stealth SHPM1.5 pool pump.   Your order number 1022350.  I actually got it installed two weeks ago after realizing I forgot to order the seal kit (GO-KIT 82V-9). It ran for about four days just fine, but has since quit running.   The electricity would go to the pump but I was only getting a humming.   After some resarch I decided to replace the capacitor.  Removed new one and tested with my meter adn it was dead.   I replaced it with the capacitor from the old motor (matched exactly) and the pool motor still would not start.  Hummed still.   I removed the pump from the plumbing so I could get to the rear shaft access.  After doing so I was able to turn the shaft from the rear of the motor.   It seems tight, but it does turn.  I actually tried the motor again and it began to work.  Seemed off but I put it all back together and got the pump to move water, however, I cycled the pump and motor several times and it finally would not start again.  Just hummed.  Went back to the motor rear shaft access and noticed that the shaft was pretty hot to the touch, but I am still able to rotate it with pliers.

I am at a loss, looking for ideas.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggesstions

I took it all apart again just to make sure.   After removing the wet end I was able to run the moter with nothing connected to it.  I put it all back together again and was able to run the motor and move water for about an hour.    But once I turned it off and tried to start it again it would not come on.  Back to humming and no running.

I am running out of ideas and feel like I have wasted $200 on the motor.
