Pull pump motor system

I have an older pull pump system and it seems the motor bearing have gone bad. I have an couple of questions on what is the most economical and logical route it take for the fix.

  1. Buy a new motor and impeller system to fit the current pump

Motor:

Part# 10-158367-04

Cat# B106

Impeller Pump system

Brand: PUREX

Part# is worn off (see photo’s)

On the impeller the set screw is rusted on. I might be able to use heat to remove, but it may strip out. Is it worth going through the process?

  1. Do I purchase a entire new pump system that fits my current set up? If this is an option what is the most cost effective way to do this?

See attached photo’s

Look forward to hearing your response need to get up and running ASAP, but don’t have a ton of money to spend.

Thank you for your time,

Joshua Cook

Hello Joshua - Unfortunately, the pictures did not come through. I can cross reference part number 10-158367-04 but not catalog number B106. I believe the catalog number might be B108. The replacement for that motor should be model B124.

We’d recommend replacing the seals when you replace the motor. We’d have to know the exact Purex model in order to recommend the seals and impeller.

The cost of a new pump would be about the same as rebuilding your current pump. You could replace the entire pump with a PureLine Prime model PL2603. This is a 2HP pump with 2" ports.
