Hi, I am looking to replace my Starite pool pump motor and filter. The particulars are that it is a 24000 gal inground pool. Currently has a 1 hp with sf 1.5. 230. Would like a two stage. 2" inlet, 1 1/2" discharge. Can you recommend a good set up for me? Thank you, eric

Hi Rhiver,

For your set up I would suggest the 1.4 HP PureLine Prime Digital Dual Speed Motor this pump has a digital controller which makes it easy to install and control. The ports on this pump are 2" threaded and come with 2" unions inlcuded, if you want to go with 1-1/2" on the discharge then you would just need a 2" x 1.5" reducer that you can pick up at any local hardware store.

I personally would go with a large cartridge filter like the Hayward C3030 325 Sq. Ft. Filter

The large cartridge filters are nice because they have a really large filtering capacity for debris so you don’t have to clean them as often. Also the larger filter puts less stress on your pump, prlonging the life of the pump motor.

i replace the pool pump & sand filter. ran water in the pump basket several times to prime, not priming. Although, with the pump lid off it is sucking big time. Just not pulling withj the lid on,  from the in pool line. HMMMM

Could you send us a few photo’s of your plumbing set up and pump and filter? Also give us the specs. on your pump and filter (i.e. HP, Sq. Ft., etc…) This would help us try to troubleshoot what’s going on.

Thanks Patrick, I did find the large rubber oring that fell off. Working now but very low pressuse, 3-4 lbs. I’m seeing alot of air bubbles coming out of the water jets, & polaris hose hmmm?

Yes if your o-ring has fell off you will see low pressure and air bubbles, can you supply the information from my last post?

What size sand filter would I need for an Oval, 15,000 gallon above ground pool. I just bought a pump from you guys last year. Thanks.
