Replaced shaft seal numerous times. Should I replace everything with the SPX2607CKIT for the RS1000? Should that stop leak from shaft seal? Also will put silicone on metal part of seal.
Yes, the SPX2607CKIT will ensure that the leak will stop leaks from the shaft. However, that kit is meant for the Hayward Super Pump. Your RS1000 pump is basically a Hayward Super II pump. They don’t offer a similar kit for the RS1000. The parts would have to be purchased individually. Click here to see the RS1000 parts.
You should not need to use silicone on the shaft seal. A water-based lube can be used on the rubber part of the seal but that’s it.
