Getting sand in pool. Everyone told me it was probably a broken lateral. Flushed all the sand from the filter, checked the laterals and all were secure and in great condition. Any other suggestions before I add new sand and put everything back together?
I replaced the entire valve assembly in 2020. I notice that there is sand coming out of the discharge back into the pool after I backwash and then switch to filter, probably last 10 to 15 seconds, then clears up and is fine afterwards. Someone told me to try running in the rinse cycle for a few minutes after backwashing and then switch to filter, helps but still seeing sand.
If laterals are not the issue, the other common problems are a cracked standpipe or a bad spider gasket in the multiport valve. What is the make and model of the filter?
