Smartpool makes a good do-it-yourself solar panel system. Typically, you want half as much solar panel square footage as the surface area of your pool. For example, a 14’x28’ pool has a surface area of 392 square feet. Half of 392 is 196. So we would recommend 200 square feet of solar panels.
