Squealing Pentair Superflo Pump

I have a 3 month old Pentair Superflo pump. It’s sqealing a high pitch. We cleaned skimmer, pump basket, thoroughly cleaned filter and checked water level. It still sqeals about 80% of the time. The internet searches says “bearing” are old but the machine is 3 months old. Is there anything I can try on my own to fix it? I don’t have a warranty on this pump so I can’t just get a new one. Thank you for any advice.

The squealing sound is usually the result of bad bearings. It’s possible that the shaft seal was defective and it allowed water to run down the shaft and ruin the bearings. Replacing the motor is an option. Before you do that, I’d open up the pump and make sure there isn’t anything stuck inside the impeller.
