Variable Speed Waterfall Motor ?

Hello all, I have a 2 HP motoer that runs a waterfall, i only run it for 30 minutes every morning to turn over the water in the catch basin for an infinity edge.

Is there any value to a Variable speed as its always on High when it runs? I would think not… and second question, if i get another 2hp to replace it, what is the quietest motor at 2 hp these days?

I have learned almost everything about my salt system from you guys website and really am impressed by the knowlege on “the boards”

Thanks in advance for any recommedations.

Thank you for contacting Inyo. In your case, I don’t think it would be very beneficial to have a variable speed for your waterfall since it would have to always run on high. It would only make sense if you had one main pump that circulated the pool and powered the waterfall.

All new motors should run quietly. They start making noise when the bearings begin to fail. There are some complete pumps that are quieter than others. The Pentair Whisperflo pump is one of the quietest single speed pumps.

Thank you so much,

I thought the same, but I am not familair enough withthe equipment to be certain.

I will get a photo of what I currently have and make certain I order the correct replacement from you.

Again this is grealtly appreciated!

Dan
