Whirling sound from motor/pump

The motor has been good for some time but just noticed today a whirling sound coming from the motor/pump. I’m trying to decide the steps of fixing. I have checked the propeller for debri but no issues. I also removed the difuser and checked for rubbing. I will be replacing the difuser because of wear around seal but I ran it without difuser and it is still making the whirling sound.

Was the pump strainer full of water when it was making the whirling sound? If the pump isn’t fully primed, it can make a whirling sound.

Sounds from the motor are typically bearing related. The bearings can be replaced, but most homeowners are more comfortable with replacing the motor.
