Just installed the new T5 that I purchased from inyo.
Will not work properly moved the weight, the halo, adjusted the suction with the meter they provided with the unit.
I am ready to return it, left the cleaner on all night in the same spot as it was when I left it!
then I started reading reviews…awful
I will give product a chance so if you can help I would appreciate it.
The issue with these cleaners not moving is usually not enough suction. Make sure your main drain line is closed. You mentioned that you used the meter. I’m assuming you are referring to the Flow Guage. What is the reading on the Flow Guage?
I’ve tried all different settings but yes did start with the 3 as per the manual. As a matter of fact I have to open my floor drain because I have to much suction.(I have a suction port not thru the skimmer)
Have you checked the diaphragm to make sure it isn’t clogged or possibly damaged? A small hole in the diaphragm can prevent the cleaner from moving.
It moves fine it gets stuck on any edge that it comes in contact with: pool light and steps
Do you have any return jets near the steps or lights that you could direct towards those areas so that the force of the water would push the cleaner away?
I have the deflecting cups installed in them…from my last cleaner. I have shorted the manufacturers suggested hose length by 1 piece. Two lengths past the farthest point wasn’t working for me so I shortened it by the 1 and it is moving much better. Almost like the excessive hose had the cleaner binding against the wall.
im just giving my experience because I have never had such difficulty connecting a pool cleaner. They are all different though and do require a bit of tweaking. I say this because if you get on any number of forums the T5 defiantly has a bad reputation.
Again I’m no expert but you can get the T5 to work, but you will need to apply great patience. IMHO
We appreciate the feedback. It is common to do a lot of initial adjustments with suction cleaners. Hopefully, the T5 will work well for you once it is dialed in.
