Hi, Michael. Yes, this PL2859 Motor is compatible with the WF-28 Pump. I will also recommend that you get the Pentair Whisperflo Tune Up Kit - GOKIT32 or GOKIT32SALT.

Hi Harry, Actually for the Pentair Motor 196238 WF-24 011772 you would need this PL2853 1 HP Up Rate Motor we would also suggest this Whisperflo Tune Up Kit when replacing your motor. I have a pump model# Fw-8/011582, 2 HP, SF 2.60, 230V 60Hz, Max Amps 11.5, thermal protect KG code Gans self Priming Pump. which pump is compatible with my Pentair whisperflo?

The correct motor for the 011582 will be the 2 HP Standard Motor - Full Rate (B748, B2748). Also when replacing that motor you will need to change the seals. We suggest GOKIT32 or for a Salt pool GOKIT32SALT.

Will this motor replace the CHII-N2-2A 2HP self priming pump?
Part number on original motor is - pentair part 7-177145-06

Hi, Riki. Yes, you can use this motor to convert your dual speed pump to a single speed or use the SQS1152R which is the correct replacement for Part # 7-177145-06. You will also need to get the Challenger Pump (CH Series) Tune Up Kit - GOKIT5.

After receiving parts and confirming fit, I began the replacement.
Watched the INYO video
Cleaned the entire area of debris, leaves, etc
Placed all tools at the pump
Turned off ALL power to pool equipment
Disconnected power to motor (3 wires + ground)
Disconnected motor from pump (6 bolts)
Cleaned and serviced all pump parts
Installed new shaft seal from GOKIT (used new, clean latex gloves to protect ceramic seal)
Connected new motor to pump
Used silicone grease on all gaskets AND bolt threads
Connected 3 wires (230V) and ground wire
Checked all connections
Prime pump
Restored power to pump breakers
Started pump
Checked for leaks

Installed motor and the capacitor blew in the first four months and cannot be replaced.

First off, it's confusing to try and do this yourself when your not that inclined, but this pump replaced my Emerson eb859 that lasted about 3 years in Texas heat.. This unit looks like and is built well and it's easy to navigate. This motor has a two-year warranty which is better than most and it's very quiet which is awesome. My last motor started getting really really loud to the point where it was keeping me up at night if I was running it.. Eventually, it fried out and took the wires that gave it power to the switch box with it.... Nightmare really, but this motor arrived fast and worked as advertised.. I still can't believe how quiet it is and I appreciate the chat feature within this site that allowed me to speak with someone who told me to purchase this.... I got a great deal on it as well! So far so good.
