Does this system require scheduled maintainance ie: clean the salt cartridge etc.? Is this system suitable for pools ranging from 10,000 - 15,000 gallons?

Hello Peter - The salt cell will require occasional maintenance. The digital display will present the following messages when the salt cell needs to be cleaned or inspected; "Low Flow; Purifier Off" or "Check Cell". This system is suitable for your pool and pools up to 22,000 gallons.

I have heard that the larger the cell, the less running time (pump) is necessary to produce chlorine. I also heard this type of set up will increase the life of the cell because it wont be working as long. If true, what size should I look at for a 20K pool. Ps.... Are there any draw backs to this theory other than the initial cost?

Hi Carl, Over sizing the cell to your pool will allow the less to work less extending the life of the cell. The AutoPilot ST48 would be the recommended size for your pool, it can treat up to 40,000 gallons. The upfront cost is the only drawback, but it's worth it.
