how does this timer connect to the filter is it hard wired or do you plug into it? is it rated for outdoors? does it need an enclosure?

The timer on this page is a replacement timer for an existing timer. If this would be a new installation you would need the Digital Pool Timer With Enclosure this timer would be hard wired and is rated for outdoors when purchased with the enclosure.
