What is Service Factor?
Reply
Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

Can this pump be used to replace the one attached in the photo? If not why not?
Thanks so much
Scott
Hello Scott, the correct replacement motor for your motor model c48d62a04 is the SQ1072. We also recommend purchasing the shaft seal when replacing the motor which is a HAYWARD SHAFT SEAL (OEM) - SPX2700SA under the assumption that you do have the Hayward booster pump model 6060.

Is there a recommended seal and gasket kit?

Yes, if the pump wet-end is the MaxFlo XL, you will need one Diffuser Gasket Part # 4811-46, shaft seal PART # 3260-105, and Seal Plate O-ring Part # 4822-07. Lubricant 1CC Pillow Pack - LUBE-PP is also recommended for the shaft seal and o-ring installation.
