Hi Renetta, This unit does not have an On/Off switch, you will have to plug-in/unplug the unit to turn it On/Off.

How many of these would i need for a 27' round and 6' deep above ground pool?

Hi, This light gets clamped to the stabilizing bar located under the top rail. You can view the installation instruction in the Owner's Manual.
