Will these blow out of the pool if it is a windy area?

Carole, They can depending of the water level of the pool. The higher the water level is to the rim of the pool the higher the chance of these blowing out of the pool.

what is the diameter of this cover? does it snap on or just float?

Each ring is 5 ft wide, or 60" in diameter. And they do just float around the pool

Hello , according to the manufacturer, it would take 15 Solar Sun Rings to cover a 27ft round pool. You can see the calculations and additional information at Solar Sun Rings website. The rings are sold individually and are 5ft in diameter.

Would these work in a plastic pool, if just used about 30 mins or before use of the pool?
