What is the kit closure for? I have an ancient TR100 that has a 8 1/2" western series dome. The dome is broken and the part is obsolete. The diameter of the lid is 8.5". Could this kit replace the clear dome? Thanks

I called Pentair Technical Assistance ( 800-831-7133 ) and asked them. They said for a filter that is older than 2001, the part number I was given is Pentair 154856 - which is our part number 4600-4856.
