I have a DE4800 and understand that the 4820 is the replacement. Will my multiport valve which fits the DE4800 fit onto the 4820? Can any of my Grids from the DE-4800 be used in the 4820 (now I would have a complete spare bundle)??

Yes you can use the same multi port valve, grids, and manifold. As far as any other interchangeable parts, here is the parts diagram for the 4800 and the 4820 if you need to check into those parts.
