It is best recommended to replace the Motor Assembly SPX3400Z1ECM and the Drive-VAR SPX3400DR or Drive-VAR-SVRS SPX3400DRVR with the Original Hayward Components, in order to not lose any design features from the Manufacturer. It is also important to take into consideration if you have an Automated System, you will need to continue to use the Original Hayward Products to get the total functionality of both systems. The 2.7 HP Variable Speed Pool Pump Motor Square Flange PART# ECM27SQU will work as a replacement motor for the EcoStar but will not perform at the same levels as the originally designed equipment. Do not forget to replace the Shaft Seal PART# 5112-216 any time you replace the motor on your Hayward EcoStar Pump.
