Do you need any kind of mounting kit or do these just mount right into the large pentair niche?

Hi Kyle, The In-Wall installation does require the Pentair large niche. The In-Wall Assembly Kit p/n AQ339KIT comes with everything needed for installation in a concrete pool and AQ339KITFV for Vinyl or Fiberglass pool.
