  1. hello.
I have new multi-port valve 7 functions my question is what could be wrong ON filter and still throw water through the waste port at the same time thank you

    1. Hello Juan, thank you for the question. Have you opened the valve to check for a bad spider gasket or a loose diverter spring? If your handle has a jiggle, then it is likely a bad spring.

As with most things, you will not know the true issue until you open up the valve. Before you do so, read our How-to guides on the topics I mentioned above:

How to Replace a Spider Gasket on a Multiport Valve
How To Replace a Pool Multiport Valve Spring
      How a Multiport Valve Operates

    1. There are two things you can do. First, when you are removing the old shaft seal, take note how it is orientated. is the white ceramic piece on the impeller side or the seal plate?

If you already removed the shaft seal, not noting how it was installed, then you might be able to tell by the look of it. if your shaft seal looks like the one below, with the stainless steel cuff on the spring side, then that piece fits into the seal plate. While the white ceramic piece sits on the impeller. If your shaft seal’s spring side does not have a cuff then the seal oriented the other way.

      null

  2. All I’m looking for is 2″ hose clamp gaskets (“L gaskets”? “flange” gaskets?) –I don’t know what they’re called but everyone uses them and nobody sells them. You can’t help but lose them but I guess the sellers can make more money by making you buy the whole assembly rather than just the gasket. –AGF

    1. If this is for a specific pump, we would need to know the make and model of the pump to find the correct gasket. The same goes whether it is for a filter, chlorinator, heater or automatic cleaner, we would have to ID the unit it goes to for a match. Otherwise, it is kind of a needle in the haystack situation.
