Why is my skimmer lid blowing off?

    1. I doubt it. Pump strainer lids are designed to withstand high water pressure; they are screwed into place or secured to the pump housing using a locknut or clamp. A lot of skimmer designs don’t use a lockscrew or threads to hold the lid in place. The lids are designed to keep things from falling in and for easy access more so than backflow pressure.
