Step by Step

Step 1

Check Your Pool’s Paperwork - Your pool should have come with an owner’s manual, installation manual, and an invoice that provides the make and model of your pool. With the pool’s make and model information in hand, you can then find it on Inyo’s above ground pool parts schematic list. In addition, it is important to know your pool size because some models may use different top rail dimensions according to the pool’s dimensions.

The owner’s manual may also include its own replacement parts diagram with associated part numbers. You can enter the top rail part number into Inyo’s search at the top of the page if you have this information.

Step 2

Find the Part Number on Your Old Top Rail - This step is more specific to resin top ledges, as they are more likely to be stamped with a part number by the manufacture than steel components. The top ledge’s part number is usually stamped on its underside. Some top rails are stamped with multiple part numbers associated with color variants of the same part. If you cannot find the part number, try the others; these will work but just have mismatched colors. But you can always paint them to match.

**If you want all your top caps to match, you can try painting your top caps. Take a look at this guide on how to paint your above ground pool parts**

Step 3

Use Your Top Rail Dimensions and Pattern to Find a Match - If you are still unable to identify the correct replacement top rails using the above steps, use Inyo’s Above Ground Pool Top Rail Finder to get a match. To find your top rail, you will need the overall length and width of your top ledge. The ledges are organized by length, from shortest to longest. Scroll down until you find the rails matching your rail’s length. You can then begin to narrow down the chooses in that section using their width.

If there are multiple matches for your rail’s overall length and width, you can then compare the pattern or mold of the ledges to identify the most likely match.

Is your pool an "Evaluation" or an "Evolution"? We list the parts diagram for an Evolution pool on the following link, but the top rails are listed as 9-inches wide. Evolution 24' Round 52" (Steel Top Rail, Steel Upright). If the pool does not look like your pool, submit pictures as we describe in step 4.
