This new sand alternative has all the benefits of regular Zeobest, plus more. It will ensure excellent water quality – much better than sand. It also removes ammonia and thereby reduces eye and skin irritation. Like regular Zeobest, you use only half as much as with regular sand.

Zeobest Ultra is coated with a special antimicrobial coating that actually kills many of the organisms that your chemicals currently attack. Ultra will kill algae, bacteria, mold, and parasites and reduce the amount of chlorine or bromine your pool uses. This coating will remain active for 5 – 7 years, aggressively killing contaminants. You will enjoy the crystal clear filtering properties and the lower chlorine/bromine demand that Zeobest Ultra produces. Use 1 lb. of Zeobest Ultra for every 2 lbs. of sand.

Zeobest is a great alternative to regular filter sand. It provides DE like filtration (filters down to 3 microns), it's lighter than sand so you half the amount compared to sand. It can also decrease the frequency of backwashing. Without getting scientifically complex Zeobest comes from zeolites. Zeolites are the deposits of volcanic ash from thousands of years ago. It is NSF approved which means that it meets national health and safety requirements. It's also safe to use in all sand filters.
