What is the benefit of the clear solar blanket over the blue one?

First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 12 mil thick while the blue is 8 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better. The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water. Lastly, the clear blanket has a 5 year warranty as opposed to the 3 year warranty for the blue.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

I have a pool cover reel from my old cover--how do i attach a new solar heater to it?

Hi, Teri. You can attach the new solar cover by removing the old one. I would recommend getting new AG Strap Kit - 4375006.

LOVE this solar pool cover! It works so much better than the blue ones we've had in the past. It's thicker and a much better quality, and it really heats the water up perfectly. Very fast shipping, too! Highly recommend.
